Instagram Star Lexi Reed Just Posted Photos Of Her New Body After Skin Removal Surgery

Last week Lexi Reed—best known for her Instagram account @fatgirlfedup—underwent surgery to have seven pounds of loose skin removed from her abdomen and outer thighs. And now, she's sharing her results.

After shedding more than 300 pounds through diet and exercise, Lexi, 27, was left with loose skin on her stomach, legs, and arms, leading to her decision to ditch it via surgery.

Last Wednesday (on Halloween, no less), Lexi endured a nine-hour surgery performed by board-certified plastic surgeon, Joseph Michaels, M.D., who removed the excess skin and contoured her butt and bottom half to follow the new curves of her body (he even gave her a brand-new belly button).

Lexi recently shared two photos of her new body: one of her newly-contoured butt, and one of her flat stomach.

FIRST RESULTS OF MY NEW 🍑. I AM SO SWOLLEN BUT SO EXCITED FOR MY RESULTS. My surgeon @drjosephmichaels is a magician. This is my new reality & I know this is a different type of transformation. However one thing I was very adamant about was I didnt want to lose my curves, and especially not my booty gains from the thousands of squats I've done since this started. I love my Curves & they are one of my favorite things about my body! I also was concerned about how often lower body lifts flatten the buttocks and speaking with my doctor we had a conversation about preserving my buttock tissue to keep my shape. My surgeon used buttock flaps made from my own tissue and then some fat was also transferred to the lower buttocks to complete the shape. Stomach reveal will be up tomorrow but still in shock that this is my new body! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whos ready to hustle for the holidays!? Lexi said she was also clear with Michaels that, while she wanted to shape her backside, she didn't want to lose her curves. "Especially not my booty gains from the thousands of squats I've done since this started," she wrote on Instagram. "I love my Curves & they are one of my favorite things about my body!"

#motivationmonday My name is Lexi and I lost 312lbs on my own with diet and exercise. These are the battle wounds I was left with and the freedom of my new reality. I was overweight my entire life and never once in my life have I had a flat stomach. For so long I accepted the reality I never would and knew I just needed to get healthy to save my life despite what my body looked like. Going into losing weight I knew I'd be left with loose skin regardless as it's not something that normally can be avoided, but although I realized the cosmetic aspect of it I didnt realize the physical. Once I lost my weight my skin weighed me down, threw off my posture, effected my workouts, and gave me neck pain to the point that I couldn't function for my daily activities or doing the things I loved. I dont tell you these things to scare you or make you feel sympathy for me because I'd take even more skin any day, but to motivate you to take charge of your life and the future of your own skin as soon as possible. Loose skin can cause just as much pain as not taking care of your health can. Dont wait another moment to change your life. Start today! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whos ready to hustle for the holidays!? NEXT DIETBET STARTS 11/19!! While Lexi says this part of her journey is a "different type of transformation," she noted that the changes also mark her "new reality"—one that is free from the pain of carrying around the extra skin.

"Once I lost my weight my skin weighed me down, threw off my posture, effected my workouts, and gave me neck pain to the point that I couldn't function for my daily activities or doing the things I loved," Lexi said. "Loose skin can cause just as much pain as not taking care of your health can."

But while Lexi is thankful to have had the surgery, it hasn't come without struggles: Lexi said she is also taking multiple pain medications and antibiotics, as well as receiving blood thinner injections. "This is all new to me, but this is all part of the processes," she wrote on Instagram. "That being said I've been living in dresses and taking naps when the pain gets too bad or the medication makes me sleepy."

Another day of recovery, another nap. As you know I have an incision all the way around my body (my stomach hips and butt). I am on multiple pain medications, blood thinner injections, and antibiotics. I have never been on heavy medication before, done any type of drugs, hate needles, and dont even hardly take medications unless I'm dying. This is all new to me, but this is all part of the processes. That being said I've been living in dresses and taking naps when the pain gets too bad or the medication makes me sleepy. I am also sleeping on my back with pillows under my feet, back, and arms. Honestly about 8 pillows just for myself. I am fighting guys but everyday the pain is getting better! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whos ready to hustle for the holidays!? Lexi also revealed in photos on Instagram that she has surgical drains attached to her body to prevent fluid retention.

Drain life. I'm not going to tell you I've felt great because to be honest I've been in pain the last few days more than in my entire life. The surgery I had was a major surgery and I am so swollen plus so sore over my entire body that I cant pull myself out of bed without being lifted by @discoveringdanny. I spent the last few days sleeping but I am determined to show my body the care it deserves and heal at my own pace. I am slowly able to use the bathroom on my own and getting better at walking daily. I am getting over my fear of needles and accepting the shots. I still cant laugh or cough due to the pain in my abdomen from where it was repaired. If I do it hurts so bad that I start sobbing. However I know that I had to go through this pain to get to the other side. I know I have to be strong because there are too many counting on me for me to be weak. One day all of these struggles will be worth it. Thank you for all your support and dealing with me while I heal! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whos ready to hustle for the holidays!? Lexi and her husband, Danny, are staying in Washington while she recovers, keeping her in close proximity to Michaels (whose office is located in Fairfax, Virginia) for follow-up appointments.

Overall, though, Lexi remains her usual, positive self: "Recovery is a rollercoaster and so far some days are better than others but I know this process and all the pain will be worth it for my new life," she wrote.
